Refund Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right under the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU to withdraw from a digital subscription contract within 14 days of purchase without providing a reason. This is known as the "cooling-off period".

2. Digital Services Exception

By completing your purchase and requesting immediate access to the Premium features of BudgetApp, you expressly acknowledge and consent to the performance of the contract commencing before the end of the 14-day cooling-off period. You acknowledge that once the Service has been fully performed (i.e., once you have actively used the Premium features), your right of withdrawal is forfeited in accordance with Art. 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive.

3. How to Request a Refund

If you wish to withdraw before actively using Premium features, or if you believe you are entitled to a refund for another reason, please contact us within 14 days of your purchase at [contact@example.com] with the subject line "Refund Request" and include: your registered email address, the date of purchase, and your reason for requesting a refund.

4. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days of our confirmation of your refund request. The refund will be issued via the original payment method used at the time of purchase. We use Paddle as our payment processor and merchant of record; any disputes regarding payments may also be submitted directly to Paddle.

5. Exceptions and Non-Refundable Situations

We are unable to issue a refund in the following circumstances: (a) you have actively used Premium features after purchase; (b) the 14-day cooling-off period has expired; (c) the subscription has already been renewed for a new billing period (cancellation will apply to the next renewal).

6. Subscription Cancellation

Cancelling your subscription is not the same as a refund. If you cancel, your Premium access continues until the end of the current paid billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing period.
