Our story

We built the budget tool we wished existed.

BudgetApp started as a frustration. The good apps connect to your bank and treat your data like a product. The simple apps are spreadsheets in a trench coat. We wanted something in between — and built for households, not individuals.

Most budgeting apps are built for one person, staring at their own phone, looking at their own spending. That's not how money works in a household. There are two paychecks. Three kids. A joint card and a personal one. Bills that come out of one account, groceries that come out of another, and a thousand small decisions a week that nobody is writing down.

We built BudgetApp for the household. One budget, both partners, same screen. The kind of tool you can open on Sunday night, look at together for five minutes, and walk away from with a plan — not a fight.

We believe a household budget should be a five-minute weekly habit, not a spreadsheet you avoid until the end of the month.

What we believe

Four things we won't compromise on.

Privacy is not a feature.

It's the floor. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell it. We never have. We never will.

Manual entry is a choice, not a bug.

We don't scrape your bank. You log what you log. That keeps your data out of third-party hands — and it forces the five-second pause that's the whole point of budgeting.

Shared visibility, not surveillance.

Household budgets work when both people see the same numbers. They break when one person is auditing the other. We design for the first thing.

Budgeting should bring you together.

Money is the #1 thing couples fight about. We can't fix that. But we can stop being the spreadsheet that makes it worse.

What's next

We're just getting started.

BudgetApp today is the foundation: budgets, planned expenses, subscriptions, income, savings goals, household sharing. It's enough to run a real household, and it works.

What's next is depth. Better dashboards. Smarter recurring detection. Teaching tools for kids who are old enough to start learning what money actually is. We build slowly and on purpose — because the biggest risk to a household finance tool is being wrong, and the second biggest is being noisy.

Try the tool we wished existed.

Free forever to start. Premium when you want more. No bank connections, no surveillance, no spreadsheet.
